Jill Mackeen -Choir Manager and compere.

Jill has recently retired from a career in nursing working as a Registered Nurse specialising in Operating Theatre Practice. She worked for 19 years at Aintree NHS Trust and during that time spent 9 years as a Senior Manager.

In November 2002 Jill left the NHS to work as a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Health at Edge Hill University teaching on the Operating Department Practitioners Degree Programme.

Jill is also a member of the Rotary Club of Birkenhead and was President in the 2016/17 Rotary Year and a keen supporter of the Rotary Youth Services Programme including the Young Musician and Young Singer Competition.

It was through a contact at Rotary that Jill joined the choir in January 2011 as a member of the alto section. In recent years Jill has worked with the previous Choir Manager to help arrange the choirs singing trips to Swansea, Cumbria and Northumberland and finally took over the role of Choir Manger in January 2018.

Jill is also the choir’s compere.
