WIRRAL COMMUNITY CHOIR
We are a choir of about  100 voices from most parts of the Wirral, specialising in the lighter music side of choral singing.  The choir was formed in 2006 and is part of Birkenhead Sixth Form College’s Outreach Programme.  It is fast gaining a reputation for the excellence of its singing and its concert programmes, including numerous Rotary Club concerts in St George’s Hall in Liverpool.

Other performing venues include Wallasey Town Hall, the Pacific Road Arts Centre in Birkenhead, the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton, and the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool, as well as selected churches on the Wirral.  We have also sung at the magnificent Crypt Concert Room in the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral and have broadcast many times on BBC Radio Merseyside.

Under its Director of Music, Graham Connolly, the Wirral Community Choir has a widely varied repertoire, taking in popular songs and ballads, music from the great Broadway and West End theatre shows, and some of the choral classics, including famous opera choruses.  We perform frequently with a talented group of brass players, the Formby Band.

The choir is also well known for its performances on behalf of various charitable associations, especially ones based on the Wirral.
